What and when is Mend in Public Day? Inspired by Earth Hour and street stitching, Mend in Public Day is a day of collective resistance against the broken and disposable fashion system. Taking place on Saturday April 20th, Mend in Public Day invites Fashion Revolutionaries new and old to take to local streets (or community buildings) to stitch, embroider, knit, crochet and mend. Amidst busy Saturday shoppers, we will repair our clothes and spark conversations on making Loved Clothes Last.
Fashion Revolution Philippines is taking a stand against fashion waste with Mend in Public Day. By participating, you’ll be part of a global collective action resisting the cycle of excess through repair and reuse and making a difference in our fashion footprint! All skill levels and Fashion Revolutionaries are welcome!

About the piece: I want the focus on fashion to shift from the hands that create to the hands that mend. Sustainability is not a product. We as humans and as consumers can help mend our planet by taking a pause.
2.30 PM - 6.30 PM - Alteration/Repair Station
Bring clothes you need to have simple alterations done to the event. Meet and chat with the seamstress on what you have to get done and feel free to pay however much you are able to.
