As part of Fashion Revolution Week, Ethical Clothing Australia invites you to a special screening of Made in Bangladesh, a drama that examines the working conditions and social challenges faced by garment workers.
Through its story, the film brings ethical production and labour rights into sharp focus, encouraging audiences to consider what sits behind the clothes we wear and the very real human cost of unsafe and unfair work in the global fashion industry.
The evening will also include a short documentary produced by Ethical Clothing Australia, along with curated interview footage that connects the themes of the film to our local context. This includes insights from Christina Hajagos-Clausen (Textile and Garment Industry Director, IndustriALL) and Jenny Kruschel (TCF National Secretary, the Timber, Furnishings and Textile Union), alongside contributions from union representatives, workers, and outworkers from Australia’s textile, clothing, and footwear sector.

Can AI take you to the next level in your sustainable fashion journey? TCBL and VLGE offer the opportunity to explore the technical intersection of AI and circular fashion through an online challenge that will take place on Tuesday April 28, 2026, from 15-19 CET.
The challenge, which takes the form of a short online hackathon, will introduce you to AI world building and let you try your hand at it. Working alone or as a team, you’ll address one or more sustainability objectives and have the opportunity to pitch your idea as well as hear others’ pitches. And yes, there will be a winner!
This event is ideal for brands, startups, fashion students, and anyone interested in AI, immersive worlds and gaming.
The “Sustainable Accessories” workshop offers a creative and mindful experience, teaching participants how to transform waste and discarded materials into unique fashion pieces. During the activity, participants will learn techniques for repurposing fabrics, trims, and other materials that would otherwise be thrown away, creating accessories such as necklaces, bracelets, brooches, and headpieces.
In addition to stimulating creativity and artisanal craftsmanship, the workshop encourages reflection on responsible consumption, sustainability, and the circular economy in fashion. The initiative values original design, demonstrating that it is possible to create beauty, style, and identity from what is often considered trash. Open to the public interested in fashion, crafts, and sustainability, the workshop encourages creative autonomy and reinforces the transformative potential of reusing materials.

We want to bring fashion enthusiasts from Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia and others, at Anbessa Restaurant & Cafe. Jabana has and continues to be the beverage that brings people together, it is where collective sharing happens, communities connect and traditions stay alive. By combining Jabana with conversations and activities on Fashion for the Horn of Africa communities in Cairo, we are building the bridges between these creatives, giving them a space and fostering opportunities for them to work together and highlight their creations.
Event Activities:
– Show & Tell: All participants are encouraged to bring their fashion creations, be it clothes or accessories, to talk about their process and to introduce their projects and brands to everyone present. Doing this while sharing cups of Jabana, the participants will platform their work and network with potential partners, peers and customers, in a relaxed and encouraging space.
– Fabric Stories: All the participants will be given a piece of scrap fabric at random, and they will be supplied with the tools and other smaller scraps to create a short story out of textile. They will each get the opportunity to share with the group and then everyone can come together to create a collage, where we will combine the fabric pieces into one large piece. This collective fashion art activity will show the participants that anything, even waste, can be used as a tool for self expression, limitless creativity and can result in a bigger story.
