24/04/2026 19:00 - 24/04/2026 21:00Favela é Moda, directed by Emílio Domingos, is a documentary that explores the relationship between fashion, territory, and identity in the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, while also tracing the journey of Júlio César Lima, the central character who plays a pivotal role in the film’s narrative. Through a documentary approach, the film constructs a portrait of the meanings produced in relation to the social, aesthetic, and communicational dynamics present in these contexts, enabling reflections on representation, the construction of identities, and the circulation of images in the cultural sphere.
Guests:
Gabriel Alves – Graduate student in Marketing and Growth / Cool Hunter. Fashion designer (Anhanguera), Head of Futures (Hub UK), Entrepreneurship (Harvard 2019), researcher in peripheral and multicultural fashion, founder and Creative Director of GAH Brand.
Cesanne – is the embodiment of artistic versatility, moving between music, performance, and fashion as complementary languages of expression. Her aesthetic research stems from her experience in the periphery and translates into the creation of personas that construct visual, emotional, and conceptual narratives, where the body, style, and attitude are central elements.
Felipe Sardinha, a master’s student in Communication at UFF, will moderate the discussion.
