SWAP PARTY 🪩
This week is Fashion Revolution Week*, and we're inviting you to our annual swap party at Juicy! Give your unwanted gender-affirming products, like binders and gaffs, a second chance, or find your new favorite item among other swaps!
The swap party is open to everyone who wants to swap, give away, or find something to swap. Despite the name, it's not a traditional swap. Just take what fits you, completely free, and/or give away what you no longer need 🙂 You can also drop off items at the store beforehand. Anything left over will be donated to LGBTQ+ projects.
The event takes place outside of regular business hours so you can swap, try things on, and chat with each other in peace.
Fashion Revolution Week is held annually around April 24th, the anniversary of the Rana Plaza disaster. Rana Plaza, a building in Bangladesh, housed a number of garment factories that produced for many of the world's largest fashion brands. It collapsed in 2013 due to neglected safety precautions. Since then, movements have been campaigning for laws to better protect workers. Fashion Revolution Week is one such movement.
With Undrowear, we strive to source and produce goods as locally and ethically as possible. Swap events are a great way to reuse existing items. Moreover, contrary to the often classist aspects of the "sustainability movement," they help to access products at affordable prices.
