April 24 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm $40 – $175
As a fashion designer and product developer, you play an important role in influencing the apparel industry’s sustainability. Through conscientious designs and materials selections, how you develop products and the materials you choose are key in determining sustainability. The apparel industry must become socially and environmentally sustainable to thrive at scale. Join us in Los Angeles for the Future of Design Workshop, an interactive event hosted by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC).
We will introduce industry designers and teams to the SAC, the Higg Index, and more specifically, the Higg Product Tools. We will explore how the Higg Index addresses the increasing social and environmental industry risks by using the suite of sustainability tools developed by the SAC. Through group discussions and exercises, designers and peers will learn how to best engage their teams to further integrate these tools into product design and business operations.
This event is open to the public. It is ideal for apparel industry stakeholders, including product designers and developers, sustainability experts, apparel and product designers, sourcing professionals in the apparel and footwear industry, academic faculty, and students.
