PLEASE JOIN Fashion Group International of Minneapolis & St. Paul (FGI-MSP) for an expert panel discussion on sustainability in fashion. Each of our exceptional guest panelists brings a unique perspective, experience, and research on the subject of sustainability in beauty and fashion. The discussion will be moderated by the Trend and Style Editor for Mpls.St.Paul Magazine Madeline Nachbar.
The event takes places in the chic Elliot Park Hotel. There will be a variety of bites and beverages for purchase. Arrive early for the cocktail hour to mingle with other FGI members and meet new friends.
Dr. Anupama Pasricha – St. Catherine University, – Dr. Anupama Pasricha is a researcher, educator, facilitator, and servant leader. She currently chairs the department of Apparel, Merchandising and Design at St. Catherine University, St. Paul, Minnesota. She also serves as Executive Director of Educator of Socially Responsible Apparel Practices (ESRAP) and serves on the Board of Directors of the Textile Center of Minnesota and Advisory Board of Sol Inspirations.
Jill Erickson – Owner an founder of Spoils of Wear, a sustainable fashion boutique. The philosophy of Spoils of Wear is to focus on local production, organic textiles, and fair-trade practices, among other socially and environmentally sustainable qualities.
Mary Hark – Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin – Design Studies & Founder of Krataa Foundation – The Ghana Paper Project. A Master of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Ms. Hark was a 2006 Fullbright Senior Research Scholar in Sub Saharan Africa.
Antoinette Beenders, Global Creative Director, Senior Vice President of Creative at Aveda Institute, renowned for the environmental leadership and responsibility in the world of beauty. Ms. Beenders oversees the Global Artistic Team and is responsible for Aveda’s global image. She is a world-renowned, award-winning hair stylist.
