Wear Aware are Stella, Jen and Rosa, three Inner Westies who love fashion and are dedicated to making a difference for our world. They’ve each addressed their own wardrobes and tackled their overconsumption issues, learning how to dress more sustainably while maintaining their own style. Now they want to encourage others to take their own journey to buy less, buy better and to shop their own wardrobes.
Rethink your Wardrobe is an afternoon of sustainable fashion fun and thoughtful discussion on the impacts of and alternatives to Australia’s growing addiction to fast fashion with SBS television host Jan Fran as moderator and in partnership with the Green Living Centre.
Join Wear Aware as they host a panel of sustainable fashion experts and innovators exploring how we can all wear better, maintain and grow our personal style and have less impact on our environment.
Following the panel event stay to discuss what you’ve learnt over an indulgent slice of cake and join our unique clothes swap experience!
Clothes swap details:
We invite you to bring up to 3 items of clothing you ‘love’ starting from noon on the 4 May.
Don’t worry, we’re not asking you to give away your favourite duds! It might be an item that you used to ‘love’ but no longer wear, ‘love’ but just can’t make work or you might ‘love’ all of your clothes but realise that you just have too many!! Whatever it is please make sure it’s clean, undamaged, free of stains and ready for another person to love. Your invited to drop off your loved items to our art-deco coat check booth at Petersham Townhall from 12pm on the day of the event.
While you’re swapping we’ll be exploring the room to discover the tale of your loved item to share as a way of encouraging you and our audience to build a connection with clothes so they’ll find a more permanent home in your wardrobe.
Hurry, book your ticket now on Eventbrite!
