July 31 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm Free
Pulling Threads Together is an exhibition and interactive art installation that is a part of the MA dissertation project for Hanne Aarthun studying Visual Sociology at Goldsmiths University. Hanne is researching the relationship between textile worker and clothing consumer, asking questions like: How much do we know about the people making our clothes? How much do we care about their working conditions?
Hanne has collected garments, stories and interview data that is portrayed as an art installation for you to read, interact with and contribute to. Pulling Threads Together creates a platform for reflection over our moral framework regards our clothing consumption, hoping to make you feel impacted, educated and inspired.
The exhibition is located at Here for Good community centre in Sydenham High Street, London. Pulling Threads Together could be a nice and impactful mid-week activity where you could bring your friends and perhaps have a dinner afterwards at one of the local restaurants such as Mama Dough, Nandos or The Greyhound.
