March 13 @ 10:00 am - April 28 @ 6:00 pm
Interwoven is a weekend festival which explores how textile innovation intersects with design and activism to create sustainable change within the fashion industry and beyond.
As we bring together climate change activists, designers and fashion brands across technology, science, textile and fashion, join us in reconsidering what you wear and how it was produced.
How can we imagine new manifestos for the future of textiles, together?
In this exhibition, come and discover new perspectives around textile innovation at the crossroads of design, science, fashion and activism. Meet with material makers, climate activists, textile producers and fashion designers present throughout the weekend, to talk about their process and ideas for the future of fashion.
Including Makerversity-based fashion company ADAY and speculative designer Tina Gorjanc, alongside innovative childrenswear company Petit Pli, this exhibition is co-curated with textile producers Bysshe Partnership and Doppelhaus with fashion designer Eliza Collin. It includes a selection of their collaboration with designers Isabel Fletcher, Johanna-Maria Parv and Curtis Oland to create a locally and sustainably produced clothing collection.
Free and drop-in exhibition, ticketed events (check Eventbrite for full details)
This programme is part of the Earth Day 2019 season at Somerset House.
