April 23 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Free
During Fashion Revolution week, celebrate the launch of My Indie Wardrobe – a new sustainable fashion website that showcases alternative ways to shop.
Hannah and Maddy have spent the past year digging through people’s wardrobes to find and photograph delightful outfits that didn’t fund fast fashion, environmental destruction or Philip Green’s new yacht. Their aim was to find out if it was really possible to look great in sustainably sourced, ethically produced garments. Spoiler: it is possible! And My Indie Wardrobe documents all the outfits and brands they discovered. Every item is either second hand, upcycled, organic, handmade or crafted by indie makers or brands with transparent production processes.
Join them on Tuesday 23 April at La Biblioteka to peruse the fashion photographs, learn more about ethical shopping and find out how you can make simple changes to reduce the damage the clothing industry has on the planet. There’ll also be chance to sign up to showcase your own wardrobe. Plus, there’ll be time to nosy around La Biblioteka’s new shop in Kommune and enjoy a drink too.
Pop along after work from 6:00pm. We’ll be open until 8:00pm but there’ll be an intro and talks at 6:30pm.
