Wangari is a creative consultant with over 15 years experience of offering design solutions in California, Washington DC and Nairobi. A design thinker and change maker driven by Pan-Africanist ideals, building sustainable economies and mindful living, she works to balance purpose with profit and use business as a force for good. She is currently at the helm Peperuka – a socially conscious lifestyle brand that weaves African stories and connects African cultures through unique products with powerful iconography and language. The product range – apparel, accessories, home décor and gift items – is urban, contemporary and inspired by everyday life as a way to start conversations and share ideas. She is also the creative director of Black Butterfly Limited – a visual communications firm – which offers powerful solutions that inspire, educate, create interest, persuade, amuse, stimulate and push creativity. She is a trustee at HAWA House Foundation and on the board of Filamujuani Foundation.
