The Swapshop is an innovative start-up that aims to extend the life-cycle of textile with two clothing swapshops in Rotterdam. And they are opening their 3rd shop on the Haarlemmerdijk 89 in Amsterdam on the 14th of April!
How does it work? Hand in your unwanted, but beautiful clothes in their shops, and receive points in return. Use these points (and an additional amount of service fee) to 'buy' as-good-as-new preloved clothes from their shops.
As part of the accelerator program Start-up in Residence and the European Reflow project, this start-up works in close collaboration with the Amsterdam municipality. To celebrate the opening of their third shop they have invited the alderman of sustainability (Marieke Doorninck), project leader Reflow (Roosmarie Ruigrok), and founder of the Sustainable Fashion Giftcard (Nanette Hogervorst) to talk about the critical changes that the fashion industry needs to go through in the upcoming years.
Interested in this new concept and want to know what you can do yourself to create more sustainable fashion consumption patterns? Follow the live broadcast of their opening online or book an appointment to The Swapshop Amsterdam via www.the-swapshop.com and start swapping!
